Facials

All Facials:

  • Medical conditions affecting the skin or veins
  • Undiagnosed skin conditions
  • Blood clotting disorders
  • Acute inflammation/infections
  • Fever
  • Vomiting/diarrhea
  • Multiple moles over the face
  • Skin cancer
  • Recent Botox®/filler (please ask your aesthetician for advice. The average waiting time is not less than 2 weeks for Botox and about 4 weeks for fillers)
  • Recent beauty/aesthetics treatments (eyelashes, eyebrows, wax, microneedling… Consult your beautician)
  • Recent surgery (in the last 6 weeks)
  • Recent medical procedures/test (consult your doctor)
  • Recent fractures/accident (depending on severity)
  • Some oral/cream medications (please mention the therapist your medication before booking
  • Skin products with Retinol, Vitamin C and other active ingredients (you must not apply these active ingredients 48 hours prior your facial)
  • Open wounds, skin lesions, sores, sunburns and active acne on face and neck (please before booking wait until they heal and inflammation cools down)
  • Severe acne, hypervascular skin
  • Eczema/psoriasis (depending on severity and treatment)
  • If you booked ‘The Balance & Calm‘, ‘The Sculpt & Lift‘, The HydroDiamond© Skin Reset please read ‘Cold Therapy/Cryosticks Contra-Indication’ below.
  • If you booked The Essential or added LED Light Therapy add-on to your facial please read ‘LED Light Therapy Contra-Indications’ below.

The Sculpt & Lift:

  • Very thin skin that bruises easily (Hypersensitive)
  • Mature skin/sagged skin

The Mum-To-Be Facial:

  • All the above ( ‘All facials’ )
  • First Trimester of Pregnancy (13 weeks or below)
  • Late Pregnancy
  • High risk pregnancy (may require a medical approval)

The Lymph Drainage

  • Recent surgery (in the last 6 weeks – depending on surgery)
  • Recent medical procedures/test (consult your doctor)
  • Recent beauty/aesthetics treatments (consult your aesthetician/beautician)
  • Lymphoedema/Lipoedema
  • DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis)/Blood clotting disorders
  • Acute inflammation/infections
  • Fever
  • Vomiting/diarrhea
  • Contagious skin conditions (may prevent the treatment) and no-contagious skin conditions (if this is affecting most of the body areas the treatment can be adjusted)
  • Mentrual cycle at the time of your treatment (may in some occasion worsen symptoms)
  • Skin cancer
  • Sunburns (if this is affecting most of the body areas)
  • Recent fractures/accident (depending on severity)
  • Pregnancy*

Massage

All Body Massage:

  • Recent surgery (in the last 6 weeks)

  • Recent aesthetics treatments (consult your aesthetician/beautician)
  • DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis)

  • Acute undiagnosed pain
  • Fever
  • Vomiting/diarrhea
  • Contagious skin conditions (may prevent the treatment) and no-contagious skin conditions (if this is not affecting most of the body areas treatment can be offered with adjustment)
  • Sunburns (if this is affecting most of the body areas may prevent the treatment)
  • Pregnancy* (Prenatal Massage can be offered from 14 weeks onwards)
  • Cancer (medical approval required)

The Deep Tissue:

  • Osteoporosis
  • Arthritis/Arthrosis/Joint disorders

Prenatal Massage:

Reflexology

Reflexology (feet):

  • Recent surgery (in the last 6 weeks) – depending on the surgery
  • Recent medical procedures/test (consult your doctor)
  • Recent accident/fractures (depending on severity)
  • DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis)
  • Lymphedema/Lipoedema
  • Acute inflammation/infections
  • Acute undiagnosed pain
  • Fever
  • Vomiting/diarrhea
  • Contagious skin conditions of the foot (for instance but not limited to Athlete’s Foot, verrucas/plantar warts…)
  • Sunburns (if this is affecting feet)
  • First trimester of pregnancy
  • High risk pregnancy (consult your doctor first. It may require medical approval)

The Reflexology Ritual:

  • See above contra-indications for ‘Reflexology (feet)’ and ‘All Facials’.

Cold Therapy/Cryosticks – Contra-indications

Read this if you have booked The Scultp & Lift, The Balance & Calm, The HydroDiamond© Skin Reset.

  • Recent surgery
  • Chronic migraine as the cold can trigger symptoms
  • Medical conditions causing more sensitivity to cold (for instance Cold Urticaria)
  • Under blood thinners medication or have clotting disorders
  • Conditions affecting skin, veins or blood
  • Infection
  • Implants (such as pacemaker, internal defibrillator)
  • Severe medical conditions (may require medical approval), included diabetes, hepatites, epilepsy, auto-immune disorders
  • Active acne, wounds, eczema, any skin irritation
  • Skin sensitive to cold compress or similar
  • Not histamine 48h before the treatment and 24 hours after.
  • Not under medications such us: appetite supressant, chemotherapy, cycloxygenase inibitors (Voltarol), immunosopressants (oral steroids), NSAIs (ibuprofen, brufen, aspirin), anticoagulant

LED Light Therapy – Contra-indications

Read this if you have booked The Essential or LED as add-on.

  • Surgery in the last 6 weeks (depending on the surgery, may require medical approval)
  • Under cortison injections
  • Severe medical conditions (may require medical approval)
  • Cancer
  • Epilepsy
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Botox and fillers (wait 5 days before booking –  consult your aesthetician)
  • If you had any skin treatment consult your aesthetician/beautician before booking
  • Do not use Retinol 48 hours prior your treatment
  • If under medications causing photosensitivity, consult your doctor before booking. The following are as a guideline: Antipsychotic Chlorpromazine – wait 8 days from last dose before booking. Anti-fungal Griseofulvin – wait 5 days from last dose before booking. Anti-acne Isotretinoin/Accutane – wait 6 months from last dose before booking. Antibiotics Tetracycline’s – wait 5 days from last dose before booking. Anti-acne Tretinoin – can have LED Terapy as long as is used only at night. Anti-arthritis and Anti-cancer Methotrexate – wait 3 days from the last dose before booking. Anti-arythmic Amiodarone– only under physician’s written permission.

*Pregnancy is not proper considered a contra-indication however some treatments requires to stay in flat position, prone and supine in order to be performed and it may be not suitable for pregnant ladies at any stage of pregnancy.
