How many treatments will I need?

All natural therapies are able to support your wellbeing and keep you healthy and balanced when they are undertaken on a regular basis. However it depends on the treatment, reason why you are approaching natural therapies, your unique needs but also your goals and budget. Some of my clients come weekly, some fortnightly and some also once a month. Contact me and I will be happy to help you based on the treatment and your unique needs.

Are there any contra-indications to your treatments?

Please visit contra-indications.

I am pregnant, can I book?

Yes, of course! You can opt for Mum-To-Be Facial, Maternity Reflexology or Pregnancy Massage from 14 weeks onwards. Although there is no evidence to suggest that massage or reflexology can cause a miscarriage there is a higher risk of miscarriage in the first 13 weeks than throughout pregnancy.

In case of history of miscarriage, any underlying medical conditions or high risk pregnancy, you need to seek firstly medical advice.

Holistic Therapies on a regular basis and with no any severe medical issues, can be beneficial for mother and baby by improving their general well-being.

What will my first session be like?

The first session starts with an initial consultation regarding any past and present medical conditions, lifestyle, diet, any allergies and contra-indications in order to plan the best treatment for you.  All follow-ups will include a review of the general health situation, any improvements, any reactions from the last treatment. At the end of each treatment general aftercare advice will be provided in order to get the maximum benefits from the treatment. Click here to read more about how to prepare for your treatment.

What is the best facial for a sensitive skin?

Any Facials I offer can be good for sensitive skins and that is because any Facials I offer is always adapted to you. I constantly check how skin reacts when applying any products as well as any tools. The Gua Sha, The facial cups and cryosticks can be safely used on sensitive skins and it will be just necessary to adjust the pressure, the technique used or limit the time of application to avoid any reactions. If you have a very sensitive skin, vascular skin (spider veins) it may be necessary to avoid cryostick and keep the treatment gentle overall. As a qualified skincare therapist I also make sure to apply organic and natural products to your skin that respects your skin type.

How to prepar for my facial?

Skip Skincare Routine On The Day, Avoid Other Beauty Treatments

It is recommended do not wear make-up on the day, skip your skincare routine the morning of your appointment and avoid harsh chemicals like Retinols and Vitamin C 48 hours prior your appointment. If you have booked LED Light Therapy as add-on to your facial make sure to read full contra-indications here before booking and inform me if any apply to you. Retain from using exfoliants or having other beatuy treatments a few days/weeks before and after your facial.

Limit Sun Exposure

Limite sun exposure before and after a facial treatment and wear spf everyday, even in cloudy days!

Dress Comfortable

Opt for comfy clothes and avoid any restrictive clothes as your facial may include neck, decollette’ and scalp treatment. Avoid jewellery if you can (especially necklaces, big earrings).

Light Meals, Lots of Water, No alcohol or Caffeine

Stay hydrated, have a light meal, avoid caffeine and alcohol a few days before and after your facial.

Expect Breakouts After Your Facial

This can happen especially if you have acne-prone skin, sensitive skin or your skin is not used to receive facial treatments. Breakout it is a natural reaction; a response to the treatment and not necessarily a sign of a facial poorly done. This reaction called Skin Purging is due to exfoliation, extraction, and deep cleansing which accelerates cell turnover and pushes out trapped dirt, oil, and dead skin cells already present in your skin. Although it is frustrating, there is not need to worry as this a temporay reaction that can last a few weeks. It this happens, make sure to hydrate your skin, use gentle and non-comedogenic moisturiser, avoid make -up and give your skin time to heal without squeezing. If you have any upcoming event, consider getting your facial a few weeks beforehand to allow time for your skin to recover. Although there might be a chance to get a Skin Purging regular skincare actually helps manage acne and prevent future flare-ups.

Look After Your Skin And Your Wellbeing

Engage yourself in a tailored at-home skincare routine to maintain results. Look after your wellbeing by managing stress levels to reduce impact on your skin health. Stay constant and book your facial with a specialist every 4-6 weeks.

Can I book Manual Lymphatic Drainage to reduce weight and cellulite?

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a treatment (and not a massage) that works exclusively on your lymphatic system. The treatment is performed at the skin level because here, in the skin, we have most of our lymphatic vessels. With a gentle, rhythmic movement applied on your skin, the lymph is pumped and moved down the vessels to reach the closest lymph nodes where here lymph is cleaned up from toxins and waste products before is dumped back to the blood circulation. This treatment, among the many benefits, is able to drain excess of fluids by reducing water retention and may in turn reduce weight with regular sessions (if the increasing in weight is caused by water retention). However is not working on adipose tissue and can’t help to reduce fat or combat cellulite.

Can I have more treatments in one single session?

I have been asked several times to combine different treatments in one single session. Some treatments are beneficial combined while others are not.

I start from the assumption that for me ‘too much’ is never good! Long duration treatments are an overstimulation of your body and of your skin either physically and mentally. You probably don’t work out at the gym for 4 hours as you know this is not necessary for being fitted and healthy; it can be actually counter-productive. Your body needs to rest, recharge and healing itself even after a massage or skincare treatment.

I support the concept of better less and more often.

While I don’t see why you can’t combine a full body massage with holistic facials or skincare treatments (as long as you feel comfortable to spend 2 hours flat in my massage couch), I would advice instead to come for reflexology, manual lymphatic drainage in different occasions. These treatments can be emotionally and physically intense. At the end of a session you may feel tired or you may get a healing reaction which in this case would be also difficult to relate it to one treatment rather than the other.

Focus needs to be at one thing at a time both for the therapist and the client.

If you wish to have more than a treatment in one single session get in touch and I best advice you in what is good to combine based on your circumstances and goals.

Do you offer gift cards or treatment packages?

At the moment, I don’t offer gift cards or prepaid treatment packages. I choose to follow a “pay and enjoy your treatment straight away” approach.

This helps me keep everything simple, clear, and stress-free for both you and me. Managing prepaid services over time can sometimes create confusion, and I want to make sure every experience feels smooth and straightforward.

It also ensures that every treatment booked can be delivered without delay. In the unlikely event that something unexpected happens, I prefer not to have clients with unused prepaid services.

Can you provide me an invoice for claiming back my treatment?

If your health insurance or cash plan includes practitioners who are members of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR), then your Reflexology treatment may be eligible to claim back.

In addition, depending on your specific policy, there may also be the possibility to claim back for massage treatments, as I am a qualified ITEC therapist. Coverage for massage can vary between providers and plans.

I provide a professional invoice with all the necessary details, including my AoR membership number and ITEC qualification number.

Please note that it is your responsibility to check directly with your health insurance or cash plan provider to confirm whether the treatment is covered under your specific policy, and whether you can claim back fully or partially. Not all providers cover all therapies, and coverage can vary.
